I lay in bed and listen
The world is waking up
out of tune roosters and along the coast line lies a chain of dogs
Barking at the caramel light
As dawn rages through bull shaped clouds
And curvaceous women pose in the shadows of the sky, light flowing from their faces seen by with sleepy minds
Mistaking howling cats for crying babies
…
And all this bliss whisked away by
the sharp buzz of the insect sent to torment me
