Billboard Magazine, founded way back in the late 1800s was originally an 8-page publication advertising...advertisements. With the dawn of the 20th century it began to focus a bit more on breaking news and technologies which included radio. They began a column that charted the popularity of various sheet music selections, which evolved into popular radio songs. Over the near-century it's become one of the trusted sources for popular songs.
I know the caption is getting long, and Coca-Cola has a long history that I can't cover without losing your attention, so I'll end it here by sharing that the popularity of Coke knows (apparently) no bounds. Someone in the 1970s took Coca Cola cotton fabric and made themselves a home made pair of bell bottoms. Which are now in my possession. ❤️
