I hear so often you guys love what we do here to save animals, and now it’s time to step up and make a difference for a very special horse. Eve was thrown away at auction with a twisted leg and hoof problems when she couldn’t pull farm equipment for the Amish anymore. She is an INCREDIBLY sweet girl, 2,000lbs of pure beauty, and she is only a decade old. She still has 18-20 years of spice left in her!
Yesterday we discovered a keratoma in her hoof, which is very likely the cause of all of her hoof issues she’s struggled with in the past. We have to remove the keratoma surgically and resect her hoof wall, this will be several months of rehab BUT once it’s taken out, the problems go away forever. This is her shot at a normal life and complete recovery! I need us to come together now more than ever and do what we did for Lucille.
Im on the phone with the surgeons and getting an estimate for what we need, including X-rays, surgery, and a hospital hoof plate for the recovery. This is a big ask but if anyone can do it, we can. I’ve seen it again and again. I believe in us, the team we’ve built, and our ability to persevere for these animals no matter what.
